Saturday Morning Rain is Falling~
not really no actually just spitting D:
went markets this morning with dad :33
saw Bill's parents but didn't say hi coz I'm scared they don't remember me and be like wtf some random asian chick.
let's talk about the curry puff store!
At the West End Saturday Morning Riverside Markets (not actually sure what its called) there's a little store that sells curry puffs for $1 each :3 It's situated at the "food court" near the fig tree and is run by a Taiwanese couple. They sell 3 things, curry puffs, spring rolls and pumpkin puffs. While most people visit for their curry puffs and spring rolls I think the best thing there is actually the pumpkin puffs. It's unique to their store and filled with deliciously sweet jap pumpkin and their homemade wheat pastry goes really well with it >w< a must try for all pumpkin lovers out there <3 Their curry puff is nice, but is a bit more on the sweet/mild side, something kids will like :3 and their spring rolls taste so taiwanese! If you miss taiwan go get some of their spring rolls xD instead of the traditional stuff viets put in it, they have replaced it with cabbage, carrots and taiwanese rice vermicelli and reminds me of taiwan heaps ;w; but yea if you ever go West End markets, go try their puffs! The couple is very welcoming and friendly and sometimes their daughter helps out there too :3 she looks exactly like her mother! xD
I also went to the optometrist to get my eyes checked...they got worse ;w;
PABLO FOR LUNCHHHHHH because last night I saw their amazing looking Bacon Sandwich (their weekend special) *drools* so I was like must go tomro! otherwise it'll sell out Sunday which is usually what happens with all their weekend specials. When we got there....I stared at the mirror on which their write their specials with this silly grin on my face and the owner saw me and said "I'm really sorry, but the weekend special has been sold out" and I'm just like ;A; whatttt -moment of devastation- we went there at 12.30 too ;^; so sad but anyways they always have yum stuff so I ordered the open melting sandwich of cured beef instead. it was gooddd owo and looked like this:
Pablo is a favourite of mine and tooo amazing to cover in this post so I shall do another post dedicated to it another day xDD
Currently making tonkotsu ramen soup base =w= I hope it turns out gooooood xD 4 more hrs to go~

My phone
Suddenly felt like shouting out to the rest of the world out there a note of appreciation for a specific feature of my phone. My favourite aspect of my Iphone is not the fact that it's smart nor the ability to use the internet but the small button on the side that allows you to easily switch between silent mode and not-on-silent mode. I think that it's a revolutionary design in phones :') life became so much easier and convenient :'D hahaha I am easily satisfied.
on another note, I still haven't gotten around to changing my blog template.... my list of to-do's just keeps getting longer :c
I also need a make-over. Everything looks horrible on me :'c
Recount of what has happened recently:
I watched Now You See Me :D:D:D finally! Twas a good movie :')
I also watched Forrest Gump. It's a very good movie that I recommend to everyone, it's so simple yet very captivating. Then the day after that I watched Silver Linings Playbook and lemme just say, it's not my type of movie :c I couldn't stand the fact that just about everyone in the movie had a mental condition and the whole movie felt like it was in slow-mo ;OO the only part I liked was the final dance performance :c
then~~~ I went to watch Mortal Instruments: City of Bones with penwennn :D the movie did not reflect the book at all :c they completely butchered Valentine and most of the characters were different to what I imagined they'd look like :c except for maybe Jace and Clary. Otherwise I think if you watch the movie without reading the book, it's actually a decent one ~

Oishii sushi not so oishii?
This is a post that was meant to be written on sunday 20/7/13 but I was lazy and unorganised :c
In the morning me+ family did usual sunday routine, breakfast at a cafe, we decided to go to Pablo, my favourite cafe :3 hopefully sometime in the near future I will do a review/ talk about Pablo and other cafes I often go to in detail.
After breakfast, we went to James street markets so I can go get marshmallow fluff from a shop called The Nut Market there. In the shop there were only 3 jars left and the best before date printed clearly on the lid said, 7/6/13 on all 3, so taking a jar to the counter, we asked the lady if they had any in stock that wasn't overdue.
To this, the lady replied: You see, it says best before, not use by so technically you can still eat it and it's still saleable.
Her attitude was so bad it put me into a pretty bad mood :/ It's a jar of uncooked egg whites thats been overdue for almost 2 months, and you're telling me its edible? >:/
When we got home, we put away groceries etc. then I proceeded to teach Shelly how to make macarons. She's seen me make them heaps of times already, but had never tried on her on so this time, I talked her through the steps and watched her make them, checking the consistency when needed. We did two batches, lychee and matcha green tea. Unfortunately, our can of lychee had a more natural taste (as opposed to the heavy artificial-y taste asian lychee cans typically have) so the flavour didn't really come out when we used it to make the fillings for the macarons.
anyways by the time everything was done it was around 5 ish and so we headed out to sunnybank/ pinelands to meet Shelly's 2 friends. My parents decided to eat at Endless Noodles while me, lily, shelly and her friends went to Oishii sushi as planned. It's been years since I last went to Oishii sushi, I think the last time I had it was when Endless Noodles still allowed BYO aggesss ago :L I really liked it back then, the taste was good and their sushi combinations were unique. However, on this visit I was really disappointed :c
Disclaimer: I have been said as extremely picky about food and known as an extremely harsh critique so don't read the below if you are a big fan of Oishii, you may be offended. Also, take everything I say with a grain of salt, because food is pretty subjective, everyone has different tastes and likes different things O:
so me, Shelly, Lily ordered the Red dragon (middle one) , Himawari (yellow side one) and Unatama don (below)
Taste: 2/5
I was really disappointed with the Himawari roll we got this time. This used to be one of my favourite sushi fusion rolls but the roll we got this time was bland and there was no "avocado paste" in sight, even though according to the menu, there is supposed to be. The Red dragon was actually one of the worst avocado + salmon sushi combination rolls I have had, but I blame this on the soy sauce the restaurant provides. There was no flavour to it, just saltiness. You really need a good soy sauce to bring out the flavours of the classic avo+ salmon combo I think. The Unatama don was a serious disappointment! The menu showed a beautiful roll with vibrant colours of many different vegetables, but the roll we received was exceptionally dull with comparison. Instead of the many vegies I saw, we got some vegetables drenched in mayo in our roll :ccc The food was nice but the price isn't adequate. I'm not very happy with paying $7 for 3 pieces of mayo drenched sushi....In general, I think that the price was too high for the quality and taste Oishii sushi offered, with the Red dragon being $11.50 for 6 pieces (the photo showed 12 because Shelly's friends also ordered one) and the Himawari being $10.50 for 8 pieces...we paid $30 and none of us were satisfied. I was only 4/10 full even after eating most of the sushi we ordered. Lily actually left halfway to go to Endless Noodles to eat with my parents instead :/ The waiting time for food was also very long and inconsistent, we had one of our dishes come within the first 10 mins of ordering but then we had to wait for another 20-30 mins for another dish to come.
Service: 1/5
The service was extremely bad considering the price of food they sell at Oishii. They were very understaffed and we had to call 2~3 times before being waited on to order and 3~4 times more to get water. There were only 2 staff that could speak English and the restaurant was so busy it was near impossible to get someone to serve us. Shelly's friend ordered a tempura prawn hand roll, after waiting for around 40-50 mins for it, it finally came. However, there was cucumber in it and Shelly's friend was allergic to cucumber. In the past few times he ordered that handroll, they never put cucumber in it so He tried to get the attention of a waiter. We had to wait another 10 mins for this before a lady came, we explained the situation to her but she looked like she didn't understand, she just took the plate away. I saw her hand the roll back to one of the chefs and after some talking she left. I then see the chef proceed to unwrap the roll, take the cucumber out and roll it back up. It was then left there for another 5 mins before another waiter brought it to our table. We told them that the friend was seriously allergic to cucumber, so they couldn't just take it out. Considering how expensive a hand roll is, they shouldn't have just taken it out anyways even if the allergy wasn't that serious. During the time for everything to be handled properly the seaweed wrapping the hand roll was already limp and soft, a good restaurant with good service would have made another one. So the waiter took it back to the kitchen again. 10 mins later a guy comes to clear our table and we tell them that we are stilling waiting on an order so he leaves. Another 10 mins later, a different waiter comes to clear out table and we tell them we are still waiting on a hand roll and that was when someone actually went to the kitchen to check on it. The kitchen had just left it and forgotten about our order.
Overall: 2/5
Oishii sushi has greatly disappointed me this time and I doubt I will be back anytime soon if I even ever go back. The food was nice but isn't worth the money and the service is definitely something they need to improve on. There are better sushi places in Brisbane, that are more affordable, with friendlier service. Also, if you do decide to dine at Oishii, order sushi instead of mains. One of Shelly's friends ordered the omelette yakisoba, the serving size was incredibly small, I'd have to eat 4 of those if I wanted to be satisfied. You're better off ordering a plate of sushi for the same price.

Suitcase Rummage
Today I went to sell my macarons at suitcase rummage! :D :D
I couldn't sleep so I woke up early and baked some more, despite baking until 11pm the night before :')
I was super super nervous at rummage today and so I couldn't talk properly and was very awkward in trying to make some sales. But thankfully I had Shelly and Penny there to help me out xD
I sold around 200+ macarons today, which is unexpected and I am so happy that people like my macarons :3
I think it was a very refreshing and unforgettable experience! The feeling you get, as people smile as they see your goods is indescribable >w< It's even better when people come back for more, telling you that they really liked it! I think that feeling of accomplishment is irreplaceable :')
Thank you to all the people who came to visit and support me today ^^
On another note, some guy tried to subtly hit on my sister xD it was pretty funny, but he seemed like a pretty decent nice guy :L
The girl opposite our stall was selling paper :L and the first thing she said to me was "Are you taiwanese?" in chinese. Do I look that taiwanese? owo

Confessions of an Anime and Manga Lover: #1
One piece is a manga I absolutely adore. I think it's one of the most admirable manga works and Oda sensei really amazes me with his art, skill, imagination and story. Buuuuttt did you know, I used to dislike, perhaps, dare I say, hate it? That was when I've never read the manga yet.. when I was still a budding anime and manga lover :') I didn't like it because the older kids always switched the channel to One piece whenever I was watching Naruto or Inuyasha. But since reading it in the last week of school 2011 I have fallen in love!! It is one of the top mangas I definitely recommend to everyone!!

Let's talk Cherish
People tend to treat "outsiders", people they aren't close with, better. Why? I think it's because they are scared of being judged, and they know that those people won't understand them.
Conversely, they treat "insiders", those closest to them not as well, they tend to neglect them. Why? I think it's because they know that they won't be judged, that those close to them will understand.
This isn't right, but I can understand why it happens so often. We always fall into the comfort of relaxation knowing that we don't need to put in as much effort for those close to us as we won't be judged and that they will understand. However, is it really worth it? Shouldn't we put even more effort, or take the effort we put in for "outsiders" to treat those close to us better? After all, they are the ones who deserve it the most.
Russians and 11
So I was curious and checked out my page view stats.
Guess what? Currently, most of my viewers are from Russia, through a russian search tool
:L I am amused.
Also, the most common search keywords entered that led them to my blog was "2011 November 2011"
:L I am amused.

Let's talk UMAT
hahahaha even though I thought I wouldn't blog until after exams, I somehow felt strangely motivated to blog after attending my UMAT workshop over the weekend.
Overall the workshop was good and was helpful but I think they spend too much time promoting their program...I mean, we've already bought the workshop, we understand how good it is so there really isn't any point in the continuous praise for your program...
I really like section 2 of the UMAT. It focuses on Emotional Intelligence, EI. I'd like to think this my strength too. I think EI is really important, not only in UMAT but also in every aspect of life. EI grows with age, maturity and life experiences. I think after entering uni, my EI has definitely increased due to how turbulent 2012 was for me...I think the maturity angel decided to pay me a visit and make me emotionally more mature LOL
hmmm I originally had, in my mind, a lot more things to say in this post but I can't seem to recall what anymore... :L
Few days prior to UMAT workshop, I kept having dreams that were in amusement parks...for continuous days and in different amusement parks. They were all really different with the only connection being that they were amusement parks... Kinda freaked me out a bit and then I finally had two nights with my dreams based somewhere else - a family/friend outing with playgrounds and a big shopping centre.
BUT on the night of my first UMAT workshop, I had another amusement park dream D:::: butbutbut guess what?! Jake was in it! :D he had soft curls, chestnut hair and was waiting tables at a chinese restaurant tho LOL a lot of things happened in my dream...there was some couple competition to celebrate the Hello Kitty theme which celebrated the anniversary of the amusement park...and I met Vee and Billy there :L there was a reptile room... various random things and then the ending of the dream was the amusement park/ us being bombed/attacked D:::

Let's talk about Food
Helloooo people :D
I present to you...... The Jennifer Snack Stack! :D
Well, depending on how much you eat it can be a snack or a meal. I brought it to uni as part of my morning tea snack :3 but it surprisingly was quite filling O:
It's really easy and quick to prepare! Super yummy and good for you too :3
How to make~ :D
1. Cook two eggs how you like them. I like my eggs fried sunny side up, but because I was bringing this to school, I flipped them over when I was frying them so that they'd keep longer.
2. While the eggs are cooking, prepare your vegetables. I just grabbed whatever there was from my fridge, which happened to be snow pea sprouts and cucumber. I originally wanted baby spinach tho but there was none >: Give them a quick wash and drain them. Cut the cucumbers into little soldiers of around 3cm in length.
3. Cut and avocado. Eggs should be done now~ :3 put them onto a plate to cool.
4. Stack the contents! Place the cucumbers at the bottom, followed by the leafy vegetables of your choice. Add some smoked salmon, I normally use two medium sized pieces. Then top it off with the avocado slice by slice and layer as much as you want. Remember to leave space for your eggs! Now go eat your breakfast so that the eggs have time to cool (: since we're putting them directly onto the avocado. It's not good to put hot things and cold things together if you want them to keep O:
5. Place the eggs on the top of the stack, season with salt and pepper and ta-da~! :D Ready to be omnomnom-ed at school :3

Food Critic #1 and various other ramblings
Disclaimer: don't read on if you don't care for extreme criticism and bitching
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The decor and mood of the restaurant was really good and made you feel as if you were in Asia (but 100x cleaner). However it was just as crowded and extremely noisy. The service was normal, on the verge of bad nearly because all staff were so busy it was quite hard to get their attention when you needed something. One thing I didn't like was the fact that we had to share tables. I don't usually mind as this is considered the norm in Asia however, we are currently in Australia where you almost never share tables. I have been to restaurants where I had to share tables but I was fine with that since the waiters always nicely notified/ asked us if we minded but at New Shanghai they just brought to the tables and expected us to share without telling us first. They were just like, ok groups 17, 18, 19? and when all groups approached the waiter he walks and leads as to a long table and then left. Not a nice feeling. Putting me in a worse mood was the fact that we had to ask for water while we were having our meals, considering the restaurant image they were trying to portray, that kind of service was just not good enough. The seats we were given were rather cramped and I had to walk halfway through to restaurant to make a call because there was no reception at where we sat. Quite irrelevant, but at that point I was starting to become a little unhappy and the no reception just fuelled it even more. Okay, to the main point: food.
I orded the pan fried pork dumplings, mum ordered the Shepard's purse and pork wonton soup. In addition to this, we also ordered the Deep fried crispy skin chicken with special garlic and chili sauce on rice to share.
Pan fried pork dumpling:
All the dumplings had holes in them from inadequate folding which was really disappointing and made eating it extremely difficult because every time I bit into one, the juices would squirt out into my hair or into my mum's face. The dumpling were really oily and became quite sickening. However they were the best out of the lot.
Shepard's purse and pork wonton soup:
This dish had the worst wontons I have ever tasted. I don't think you can even call them wontons. They tasted like soggy dumplings, the skin was too chewy and hard and the fillings were less than those in dumplings and were very hard. Wontons can be translated into "swallowing a cloud", describing the taste when one eats a wonton. They are supposed to be fluffy and light, not chewing and hard.
Deep fried crispy skin chicken with special garlic and chili sauce on rice:
This dish was very disappointing. The side of cabbages were cold and tasteless and oily too. The chicken was nothing special and the rice tasted like it came out of a microwave, a couple of days old maybe? It was hard and barely warm. This dish cost $12.80 which was a massive rip considering the serving size could not even compare to rice/vegetable/meat sets that I've eaten at some other restaurants that aren't even over $10. The "special garlic and chili sauce" was also a disappointment, there was hardly any hint of garlic, let alone chili. I can't eat spicy things that have chili in them at all, yet I could eat the sauce, which was an indication of how little (or probably none) chili they used in the sauce. The taste of the sauce, although is a matter of personal opinion, I found rather off putting. It was so sickly sweet it made me wonder just how much sugar they put into it to be able to make something as salty as soy sauce taste so sweet.
All in all, New Shanghai was a big disappointment and I wouldn't go back unless I had to, (If a friend held their party there or something). The decor is great and one of the best I've seen around, but if you're looking for a decent meal, I would recommend that you go somewhere else.

So I went to New Shanghai with my mum yesterday after a bit of shopping since sales are on and what not. New Shanghai is a newly opened chinese (if that wasn't obvious) restaurant at Queen's plaza that always has a line (when its food time i.e. lunch, dinner etc). The decor and mood of the restaurant was really good and made you feel as if you were in Asia (but 100x cleaner). However it was just as crowded and extremely noisy. The service was normal, on the verge of bad nearly because all staff were so busy it was quite hard to get their attention when you needed something. Why shouldn't you walk in front of me? Because I am super creepy 8)
On my way to school today, this super cute guy was walking in front of meeeeee, how lucky am I? ;D getta check out cute guys on my way to school ;DD
He was white, relatively pale, very (I say very, because he was considerably taller than me) tall and lanky. He had sandy light brown hair and I really like the stuff he wore ~ owo
He wore a velveteen blazer that was a deep dark brown with a tinge of purple, it fitted him well except for the sleeves. He was a tad skinny so the sleeves looked loose on him, but he had broad shoulders. *u*
He wore moss grey jeans that weren't too skinny or loose and dark brown leather sneakers. Aaahhh leather sneakers look so good on the right ppl *u* He had a canvas side bag that was moss green with a touch of grey and it was those really casual ones that can go with anything. I really like the bag too *u* ehehehe oh and he wore these vintage sunnies that looked so good on him *o*
uhaehaehae this is why you shouldn't walk in front me 8) I will check the hell out of you 8)
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Just give me a reason, Forever and Always
I love this song, not only because of how descriptive the lyrics are, the melody, the duet ot P!nk and FUN's voices just really bring out the full feeling of this song, ahhh I love their voices <3 The lyrics mean a lot to me.
Forever and Always - 2011 summer holidays, I listened to this song so many times, especially after that rejection... Now I'm listening to it again. Many a times have these lyrics rung true for me...
I had two horrible dreams...I woke up from the first one feeling so sad and so..missing...that strong sense of something lost...then the second dream was nearly just as bad.

I cannot stand it when people tell me "take a chill pill"
I don't know why but I hate that phrase a lot. Maybe coz, Lily said it to me too many times.

The things
The things I do, the things I probably never should have done.
Those pangs of guilt. Really, I should never had cared. I felt those pangs because I knew that you guys were the ones in need. I guess all that guilt was just wasted. When I'm with my new friends I always enjoy myself and have a great time. However, when the fun is over and I head home, I feel the pangs of guilt deep in my gut.
Should I really be enjoying myself this much? Do I actually deserve this? No, they are the ones who need this more than I do. Why couldn't they have met these people in my stead? They are more needy than I am, they are the ones who need this positive drive to help propel them forward.
That's what I thought. Silly me. Why did I even bother to consider how you guys feel when all you guys do for me is to trample all over my feelings.
Did you ever think of the effort, thought and actual action I put into maintaining my friendships with you guys? Even when I know that the main reason you asked me to meet up was so that you aren't a loner, I still went, happy that a chance to see one of my dear friends has come up.
I'm sure none of you guys except a few or maybe a certain someone had no ill intent what so ever, but you cannot deny the fact that you were involved. Yes you did nothing harmful but you didn't do or try to do anything to make the situation better. You just cruised along, following the flow, like you always did. I treasured the friendship we shared, but I guess I was just being, as always, delusional in thinking that you did too.

Yellow Brick Road
Fridayyy = 5hrs worth of non stop lectures :')
tho most ppl wag, I'm a good kid (Y)
after lectures we went to eat lunch~ (An ditched us to keep Lina company) Vincent decided he was really hungry so we went to Little Singapore :3 and there was were I took out my home made lunch and ate it there shamelessly even using their chopsticks. Afterwards most people had to go so we spent a short while helping Vincent pick out a birthday present for someone else. Theeeeen he left and so me and Alan walked to easyway to meet up with everyone else.
tis the moment I realised how hated I was by everyone and how glad they were to finally be rid of me </3
We went to watch a movie I wanted to watch since agesss ago when I saw the trailer: Oz, the great and powerful. It was a goood moviee buutttt, read on if you dont mind spoilers > >
*SPOILER ALER*
I really liked the background scenery and all however the storyline could have been better ): I guess it's coz they need to make it so that it still links to the original and all but yea ): and THEODORA arghhh I really didn't like her storyline and I was really dissatisfied with the ending D;;;; Theodora had such a good chara design but no, they just had to go and ruin it by turning her into an ugly super evil witch ):::
and one more thing that ended up getting annoying was how Oz was such a player = =
but all in all the movie designs were really good :)
So I went home after the movie since I couldn't stay out late today )::: but I went home happy as I had enjoyed the day :D then..... I got home.... and urghh x_x read the post before if you want to know (Y)

Rant
Ok, so as the title suggests this is gonna be a rant post, I wanted to do a proper post so hopefully that will come later/soon. Hopefully.
I was happy and totally enjoying my day until I came home.
I dont understand why I even try sometimes anymore. Why is it that it's always you who is disappointing me or making me upset. 5 years. Why can't I be free of you?!
Really, if you didn't want to see me you should have just told me instead of coming up with excuses because it hurts a lot more when I found out the truth. (Actually, more like you didn't care enough to cover it up)
Sure, go ahead and just have your own little private group meeting.
You might say that I do that all the time too but I'd like to assure you (if you even care enough to listen) that that is not the case. I meet up with small groups of people to catch up sometimes but unlike you, I also care about my other friends and that's most likely the reason (if you haven't figured it out yet) why I invited everyone in the group to the GROUP meet up. But you, you neglected the group meet up to do just that. That little private group meet, as if to rub it in. Is it the exclusiveness you like? Does it really make you feel that special, excluding other people? If you were gonna exclude, at least do it discretely, don't show it off. You were always like that. Always. When will I be free from you?
And to think that I actually thought you had your reasons before I found out what you were up to. Great to hear that the "people" you made prior plans with were also people that you most likely would have seen if, say, you, ALL OF YOU, put in more effort to maintaining friendships.
Ahhh, I get it. It's not you guys is it? It's me. I'm so delusional to think that you guys think of me like I think of you. I should have seen this sooner.
It was totally one sided.

Mission Accomplished -Serendipity
Sometimes pleasant things just happen unexpectedly when you don't actively seek it out.
wheeee I was introduced to that cute guy I was unable to stalk :D yup creepy jen at her finest (Y)
How do you answer those awkward questions like, "Why are you wearing that?" or "What are you wearing?" or "How did you make it?"
someone asked me if my macarons were fake today ._.
"How did you make these?"
"What do you mean? I made them with my hands. Nope, I made them with my feet"
"No, you made them with your feathers"
"How did you make these?"

I like funny people with humour but I'm always too slow to react to the humour ):::
Guys and feather earrings. Every time I'm wearing my feather earrings guys will be like, what are you wearing? what are those? -touch- *wtf look*

I don't believe that we don't lose friends as we grow up, that we just find out who the true ones are.
That just doesn't happen. As much as I'd hate to believe, we do lose friends. It's not about whether or not they were true ones, everyone changes. It just might be so that they changed, thus they don't care as much and put in less effort. That's how friendships are lost.

Slash to the heart
watisthis
Why are you doing this? to yourself and to those that care about you. wth
When will you stop being inconsiderate and just let things go?
I want to lecture you about this, about how important your friends are, about how true these friends I speak of are, but my position does not allow it.
I want to be your support but your rejection isn't helping.
Right now I can only put my hand out there and hope that you will grab onto it, hopefully before its too late. I hope you will realise how dangerous and lonely the path you are walking down is.
I miss that gentle smile of yours.
